LECTOR MINISTRY
The Lector Ministry
at St. Edward Parish is a diverse group of individuals who proclaim the Word
of God each week at Mass, at all special celebrations, and on Holy Days of
Obligation. We are not readers, but are proclaimers of the Good News of
the Lord.
Being a member of the
Lector Ministry helps you to gain a better understanding of the readings of
the week because you prepare them at home and practice before coming to Mass
to read on the weekend.
The schedule for
lectors works on a rotating basis.
The Lector Ministry
helps all of its members gain confidence in speaking before a group. By
proclaiming the Word of the Lord each week to the best of your ability, you
can have a positive impact on the liturgy.
