EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS The parishioners of St. Edward Parish are offered the option of receiving Holy Eucharist under both species: bread and wine. All parishioners are encouraged to partake of the Most Precious Blood as the fullest sign of communion in the Lord. St. Edward Parish priests are assisted by lay Eucharist Ministers. The number of ministers at each Mass, usually seven, allows for the reverent and orderly distribution of the Eucharist. These lay Eucharistic Ministers are people of deep faith with a love of the Eucharist. They need not be saints, much less angels, but rather, Roman Catholic wayfarers, committed to the Lord and in union with the Church.
